Check out the midweek figures!

US rock juggernauts Foo Fighters are vying for their eighth straight #1 album in Australia this week, that is if Perth’s Psychedelic Porn Crumpets don’t upset their streak.

According to midweek figures, the WA outfit’s acclaimed fourth record, SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound, is looking to debut in the top #3 on the ARIA Albums chart this week, alongside Foo Fighters’ latest offering, Medicine At Midnight.

If Foo Fighters do reign victorious this weekend, Medicine At Midnight will be their seventh consecutive studio album to hit #1 since they first topped the Albums chart in 2002 with One By One. The band’s greatest hits in 2009 also hit #1, bringing the total since 2002 to eight.

The only other band to score seven straight #1 studio albums Down Under is U2, who took out #1 from Rattle And Hum (1988) to No Line On The Horizon (2009).

Following on from a memorable Super Bowl performance (and a stack of new memes), The Weeknd is looking to debut in the top 10 with his new greatest hits album, The Highlights, while last year’s After Hours is expected to move back into the top 20.

Also expected to debut in the top 10 this week is Kate Ceberano, with her 28th album, Sweet Inspiration.

Over on the Singles chart, Cardi B’s UP will likely make its debut in the top 30.
