Taylor Swift is at it again, with her team filing a trademark for “Female Rage: The Musical”.

Now, this term isn’t new for fans of the megastar. During her first Paris show of The Eras Tour, Swift joked that she liked to refer to The Tortured Poets Department section of her concert as “Female Rage: The Musical”.

The name is apt, as she sings anger-inducing songs like Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me?, Down Bad and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived during the section.  Though it began as a joke, the subsequent trademark application has sent Swifties into a spiral, begging the question: is Taylor Swift writing a musical?

The trademark could be for something as simple as merchandise, or it could point to something more, with many fans hoping for a jukebox musical of Tortured Poets songs.

The addition of her new album to The Eras Tour setlist did ruffle a few feathers, as it caused the removal of various fan-favourite songs like The 1, Tolerate It and Long Live.

Swift has dominated the ARIA Charts since her release of The Tortured Poets Department, occupying the entire Top 10 Singles chart at one point. Her new album is not without critics, though. Check out our new columnist’s scathing take on the album here.
