Midweek figures are in.
Ed Sheeran has completely and utterly dominated the ARIA charts in the last month, but the UK artist's reign at #1 on the Albums list is under serious threat this week.
According to midweek figures, Sydney's own Northlane are primed for a top three debut with their new surprise LP, Mesmer, and the metalcore band are no strangers to topping the Albums chart as their last offering, 2015''s Node, peaked at #1.
Adding to this, revered country singer Lee Kernaghan is also hunting down a top three debut with The 25th Anniversary Album and his last album, 2015's The Spirit Of The Anzacs, also peaked at #1.
It's way too early to call at this stage, but this could be the toughest week for Sheeran's ÷ (Divide) to hold out the competition.

Meanwhile, after debuting at #16 on the Singles chart last week, Drake's Passionfruit is set to shoot straight into the top five, which will again be heavily occupied by Sheeran.
Sheeran is gunning for 12 straight weeks on top with Shape Of You, though The Chainsmokers' and Coldplay's Something Just Like This will be right on its heels after jumping up to #2 last week.
Expect to see new tunes on the chart from Zayn with Still Got Time, featuring Partynextdoor, Kendrick Lamar with The Heart Part Four, David Guetta's Light My Body Up, featuring Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne and Future with Mask Off.
