Are Avenged Sevenfold And Empire Of The Sun The Next Acts To Be Blocked From #1 By Mauboy?

Mauboy is chasing three straight weeks at the top.

More Jessica Mauboy Jessica Mauboy Profile

Last week she denied the likes of Lady Gaga and Michael Buble from a top debut and now Aussie singer Jessica Mauboy is a strong possibility to maintain #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a third straight week and, this time, block fellow Aussie act Empire Of The Sun and US heavy metal outfit Avenged Sevenfold.

While midweek figures suggest that Avenged Sevenfold are primed for a top five debut with surprise LP, The Stage, Empire Of The Sun are also set to be feature as one of this week's top debuting acts with their third album, Two Vines, following their 2013 offering, Ice On The Dune, which peaked at #3.

Mauboy's The Secret Daughter (Songs From The Original TV Series) will still also likely have to fend off Gaga's Joanne and Buble's Nobody But Me to hold onto top spot, so just who will come out on top is still anyone's guess.

Other debuting albums set to crack the top 20 include James Arthur's Back From The EdgeRoy Orbison compilation, The Ultimate CollectionTestament's Brotherhood Of The SnakeTove Lo's Lady Wood and Kenny Chesney's Cosmic Hallelujah, while Adelaide-based singer Tkay Maidza's TKAY and Superheist's Ghosts Of The Social Dead are expected to chart in the top 50.

On the Singles Chart, James Arthur is gunning for four weeks straight on top with his hit, Say You Won't Let Go, while Guy Sebastian's new track, Set In Stone, is likely to debut in the top 40.

Expect to also hear new tunes from Sydney singer Starley with Call On Me and Cashmere Cat's Trust Nobody ft. Selena Gomez and Tory Lanez.
