The international 'discovery and development' company adds an Australian arm

International music company A&R Worldwide have announced an Australian division today, which will be a joint venture with Chugg Entertainment.

The joint venture was finalised last week in Beverly Hills between A&R Worldwide's President and founder Sat Bisla and Chugg Entertainment's founder and CEO Michael Chugg.

The deal will give A&R Worldwide, an independent and global artist discovery and development company, Australian reach, adding to its existing presence in North America and Europe, where it launched A&R Worldwide Germany earlier this year. Offering services to build an artist's “strategic game plan” (that is, everything from song development to press photos, packaging and distribution), they claims some of its “success stories” to be Adele, The Temper Trap, LFMAO, Muse and Airbourne.

Today Bisla said that, “On behalf of my entire Los Angeles-based team, I'm extremely excited about the launch of A&R Worldwide Australasia, which furthers A&R Worldwide's impact internationally and helps us expand our efforts to the needs of those we work with as well as our overall discovery, development and consulting efforts to and from Australasia.”

A friend of Chugg's for 17 years, he described the Australian veteran as, “an incredible mentor, inspiration and friend to me. His genuine passion, caring, work ethic and overall integrity for people and music are a core part of him as a human being. Michael and his team are on the forefront of some of the most exciting new music and creative and business inspirations that are emanating out of Australasia. Australasia is a burgeoning economic market with incredible talent and opportunities and I could not be prouder of teaming up with a partner such as Michael and Chugg Entertainment.”

Chugg was equally full of praise, saying that, “Sat and his hardworking team are genuinely wonderful people and I can't wait for my team and I to work with them under the A&R Worldwide Australasia business. We have been working towards getting more involved in local artist development for years and the relationship with Sat and his team will expand our efforts and give us a global base to help develop Australian artists and bring international talent into our home markets. It a very exciting time for all of us.”

Other Australian acts that A&R Worldwide have helped with the early development or signing of are Missy Higgins, Sia, Wolfmother and Hungry Kids Of Hungary.
