What an effort from 'The Party King'!

Party-loving rockstar Andrew WK has completed his goal to break the record for the longest ever drum session.

WK tweeted this morning to confirm that the feat, which went for a duration of 24 hours, had been achieved, thanking his fans for all the love they'd shown 'The Party King' throughout the mission.

WE DID IT!!! 24 HOURS OF DRUMMING!!! Remember... I didn't do it, WE did it. You were with me every beat. I feel very emotional and party.

The stunt was part of a promotion surrounding the O Awards, which also previously saw the Flaming Lips attempt the most multi-city shows played in 24 hours and hip hop star Chiddy from Chiddy Bang Bang breaking the record for longest ever freestyle rap.

The drumming sesh took place in Times Square and WK had a little help from a few muso pals, including ?uestlove of The Roots, Hanson and Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
