Starting at 7pm on Wednesday 19 June, Andrew WK will set up in a store in Times Square and drum for 24 hours, as he looks to break the world record for longest drum session held in a retail store.

The stunt is being pulled as a part of the promotion surrounding the O Music Awards, the same reason the Flaming Lips took a crack at the most multi-city shows played in 24 hours last year and Chiddy of Chiddy Bang took out the record for the longest ever freestyle rap.

Andrew WK spoke with the Hollywood Reporter about the stunt, saying he has been preparing by air drumming with weights rather than sticks. He also confirmed that a number of guest drummers would be sitting in with him across the 24 hour period, though wouldn't confirm who.

"Some of these I would consider the greatest drummers in the world," he said. "People that I've admired for years and years."
