The band have confirmed this is their final year together

More Anberlin More Anberlin

American rock group Anberlin have announced 2014 will be their last year as a band.

The Florida quintet posted a video on their official website earlier today confirming that they are working on their last record and will tour one last time throughout the year.

Stating that they didn't want to "fade out" and that it was the "right time" to end, the guys said their final album and tour is a thank you to their loyal fans.

"We want to end with hugs and celebrate the life that was Anberlin and not be bummed about us ending," the message said.

Anberlin were last in Australia during September of last year. Interestingly, we spoke to the band's frontman Stephen Christian just before their last Aus tour, who maintained a pretty relaxed attitude as to what the future was for Anberlin.

“From here we'll continue to do what we do and what we love to do, which is tour, make records, and appreciate every moment, because you don't know if this is your last moment. The next record might come out, and if no one buys it, then it's over. So we just want to take every moment and appreciate it.”
