It’s a big day for Australian emo fans, with the aptly-titled An Emo Extravaganza tour bringing out some of the biggest names in the genre to local shores next year.

Taking place across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in late February and early March, the tour is headlined by Florida outfit Anberlin, who will be playing through their 2005 album Never Take Friendship Personal, while Georgia’s own Cartel will also be looking back to 2005 to play through their debut album, Chroma.

Meanwhile, Tennessee’s Hot Chelle Rae will be on-ground to give 2011’s Whatever a run through, where they’ll be joined by Virginia’s Broadside, and Californian acoustic duo This Wild Life, who will play through their 2014 debut, Clouded.

The forthcoming tour will be Anberlin’s first visit to Australia since early 2024, and their third visit since their 2018 reformation.

Their return also follows on from this year’s release of Nevertake, a re-recorded version of Never Take Friendship Personal featuring Matty Mullins on vocals, having taken over the role of touring vocalist from Stephen Christian in 2023.

Meanwhile, Cartel’s visit will be their first to local shores since 2014, and coincides with their 20th anniversary rerecording of Chroma this year.

While Hot Chelle Rae and This Wild Life make highly-anticipated returns after almost a decade, the upcoming trek will serve as Broadside’s long-awaited Australian debut.

Tickets to the forthcoming An Emo Extravaganza go on sale from 9am local time on Thursday, November 13th, while a Destroy All Lines pre-sale runs for 48 hours from 9am local time on Tuesday, November 11th.
