Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson Respond To Amy Shark's 'Generous Gesture'

"If the docs say ok!"

With the craziness that is the global coronavirus outbreak, here's a good reminder why we should all remain hopeful and optimistic.

After Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson announced on this week that they had tested positive for coronavirus while on the Gold Coast, Aussie singer Amy Shark contacted the US actors on Twitter on Friday.

"Hey @tomhanks I am away but I have a house on the Gold Coast you can borrow for 14 days of isolation," Shark tweeted.

"Leave your germs everywhere I don’t care. Netflix n wifi password on kitchen bench."

Just hours later, Wilson responded to Shark's tweet.

"Amy! When we are better we will celebrate together! If the docs say ok," Wilson wrote.

"Thank you for such a generous gesture."

Hanks is currently on the Gold Coast to film Baz Luhrmann's new Elvis Presley biopic, however it is understood production has since halted following his diagnosis.

The Oscar winner plays Colonel Tom Parker, Presley's manager, in the film, while fellow US actor Austin Butler stars as the late music icon.

Other names to appear in the biopic include Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rufus Sewell, UK singer Yola and Australia's own Olivia DeJonge.

The film is expected to hit cinemas next year.
