Sebastian Chase – MGM Distribution – CEO
Being the head of one of the most 'approachable' labels in the Aussie music industry, it's fitting that Seb Chase is one of the most approachable individuals in the industry himself. As CEO of MGM, Chase has given a leg up, a start and/or a vital push to a plethora of amazing independent Australian acts. Through MGM he's shaped the way that the grass-roots scene gets released and continues to be an example for much of the industry.
Hilltop Hoods – Artist
One of the few artists to make the top 50, the South Australian hip hop outfit make it for what they put back into their scene. In 2008 they founded the Golden Era label (home to Vents, Funkoars and more) and proved that not only is it a viable option for an artist, but a smart one at that. Outside of the business end, they use their considerable influence among fans and industry to promote the emerging hip hop scene as well as charity causes. They put their money where their mouth is too, with a $10,000 grant for young acts.

Michael Hohnen/Mark Grose – Skinnyfish/Co-founders
Skinnyfish co-founders Michael Hohnen and Mark Grose are perhaps best known for the triumph of Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, an amazing musical talent from a remote indigenous community that would have otherwise gone unnoticed by the rest of the world. Their passion and drive with Gurrumul is outstanding, but it's not all that Skinnyfish can be thanked for. They've given Australia voices that it had forgotten it had.
Steve Pavlovic – Modular People – Owner
While Modular's Steve 'Pav' Pavlovic is a true entrepreneur of the Australian scene, it's hard to understand just how much influence he has around the world until you get over there. Wolfmother, Ladyhawke, Tame Impala and The Presets success stories that make many internationals think of Pav first when thinking of Australia. Last year's gig as the curator of Vivid LIVE showed that he could carry a public profile and pull those international strings.
Paul Piticco/Jessica Ducrou – Splendour In The Grass – Co-directors
Paul Piticco and Jessica Ducrou have both earned respect in the music industry by their own accord, but it's with Byron Bay camping festival Splendour In The Grass that they, together, have become one of the most powerful partnerships on the Australian industry. The duo also featured in last year's BRW Entertainment Rich List at 30 with earnings of $3.8 million making Splendour, aka 'Australia's Glastonbury' to most of the work, a vital linchpin of the industry.
