“My life was going a certain way before something pulled everything out from under me."
Alison Wonderland has today announced her third studio album Loner is set for release on May 6.
Alongside the announcement, the pioneering electronic producer and DJ has shared her new single, New Day, from the forthcoming album.
The track follows a period of darkness for Alison, and describes her re-falling in love with life and the potential that each day holds.
The video for New Day sees Alison riding on horseback through a barren wilderness, as she metaphorically and literally overcomes formidable adversaries. It was directed by Pete Dons and produced by Satien Mehta.
“My life was going a certain way before something pulled everything out from under me,” she said.
“It left me entirely alone, and it all happened around the same time as COVID. I felt like I had hit my rock bottom. I realized that I have always seen myself as the victim of my story.

“This time, something shifted in me, and I decided that I didn’t want to be the victim anymore. Instead, whatever I wrote from here would empower me, and help me find strength in this loneliness.”
Loner is now available to pre-order in digital, CD and vinyl formats.
