Alexisonfire To Reunite For 2015 Festivals Tour

There are no dates planned for Down Under (yet?), though

Inactive Canadian post-hardcore luminaries Alexisonfire have announced that they're reconvening for a series of festival performances this year, though sadly there are no dates planned for Australia (or the Southern Hemisphere in General) — at least yet.

In a photo post on Facebook this morning hashtagged simply "#AOF15", the band indicated that they would be reuniting for shows at Heavy Montreal, in Canada; the UK's Reading and Leeds festivals; additional Canadian fests SONiC BOOMX-Fest and Riot Fest Toronto; and an as-yet unspecified appearance in the United States.

The band released four full-length albums during their original run together, starting with 2002's self-titled debut and encompassing 2004's acclaimed Watch Out!, 2006's also-well-received Crisis, and 2009's final effort, Old Crows/Young Cardinals. They also released an EP, Dog's Blood, in 2010, as well as a digital version of their Aussie Tour 7" that featured two covers of songs by classic Aussie bands Midnight Oil and The Saints.

Alexisonfire split in 2011, abandoning an in-progress fifth studio album after clean vocalist Dallas Green departed to focus on his City & Colour solo project and guitarist Wade MacNeil left to take up vocal duties for English hardcore group Gallows.

They came together once more for a farewell tour in 2012, which did include stops Down Under, so here's hoping the projected dates expand to include a southern sojourn as well.
