AC/DC currently haven't toured Australia since 2015, but their ongoing 'Power Up' tour might just end that drought of live dates.

2025 might only just be beginning, but already rumours about the big names who will grace local stages are heating up, with iconic Aussie veterans AC/DC rumoured to be planning a massive homecoming.
A report from the Herald Sun about all the potential high-profile tours that the following year could include also featured a small note saying that the hard rock exports are “strongly tipped for stadium dates in the last quarter of 2025 as part of their Power Up tour”, according to “tour insiders”.
If this indeed proves true, these shows will closely line up with the tenth anniversary of the band’s last tour of the country.
Currently, AC/DC haven’t toured Australia since 2015 as part of their Rock Or Bust world tour, supporting the album of the same name from the previous year. That tour was notable given it featured Phil Rudd on drums for the first time since 1994, and Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, replacing his uncle Malcolm Young, who had retired in 2014 and would later pass away in 2017.
Since the conclusion of that tour in 2016 (which featured Brian Johnson being replaced by Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose due to hearing issues), AC/DC have been relatively quiet on the touring front.
Though Johnson, drummer Phil Rudd, and bassist Cliff Williams were confirmed in 2020 as being members of the band, their Power Up album from that same year didn’t result in any shows until a standalone US date in 2023.

Last year, the group returned to the road in earnest with 24 dates in the UK. Currently, their 2025 plans include a return to the US and Canada, with nothing scheduled past May at this stage. Rudd and Williams have so far been absent from the touring circuit, being replaced by Matt Laug and Chris Chaney, respectively.
Of course, all rumours about an Australian tour should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, in late 2023, Melbourne’s Cherry Bar owner James Young shared that “a little birdy told me last night that AC/DC will 100% be touring Australia in 2024”.
Given that hasn’t happened yet, it could be worth tempering all expectations just to be on the safe side.
