You don't see that every day.

If you’ve ever wanted to start a moshpit in an airport terminal, now’s your chance, with Melbourne Airport announcing it will host live music this December.

Melbourne-based artists will perform to departing travellers from 13-20 December as part of Boarding Pass Music Festival.

The festival will feature 74 scheduled pop-up performances from the likes of Talei Wolfgram, Davey Lane, Fenn Wilson, The Bambi Kills, Lilla Meraki, Velvet Bloom, Iseula, Mimi Gilbert, Miss Mikaila, Oliver Northam, Immy Owusu, Yara, Jarryn Phegan, Rosa Rico, Slowcoaching and Dalli.

“I was so excited when the team at Melbourne Airport agreed we should bring together a diverse and young line-up of Melbourne musicians,” Event Producer Andrew Watt said.

“We have a group of artists encompassing folk, indie-pop, blues, dream-pop, classical, neo-soul, rock-pop, country, jazz, and classical music, all performing mainly original music. And, reflecting Melbourne beautifully we have artists whose cultural heritage includes over twelve different nationalities.”

The performances will take place around “high traffic periods”, with more details available via the Melbourne Airport website.
