Luke Hemmings5 Seconds Of Summer lead singer Luke Hemmings has revealed that he and his wife, Sierra Deaton, are parents to a baby girl. In a post shared to Instagram, the couple described the announcement as their “best kept secret.”
The pair recently welcomed their child into the world and shared her existence by posting a photo of their newborn daughter’s hands and feet. They also shared an older picture of a then-pregnant Deaton, while Hemmings cradled her baby bump.
“Our best kept secret … Written and Produced by Sierra and Luke Hemmings,” the couple captioned the post.
In the comments, Hemmings discussed the decision to maintain privacy around Deaton’s pregnancy and the birth of their daughter.
“In our perfect world, we’d keep our daughter a secret forever … for similar reasons we chose to never share our wedding photos from years ago,” Hemmings wrote (per Billboard). “However, going into this next album cycle, I’m very aware that her existence would inevitably leak.”
He continued, “To avoid any speculation, we’re posting this now and humbly asking for everyone to respect her privacy.
“If you see us in public, please avoid taking or sharing photos of her as we don’t plan on publicising her name, birthdate, or face any time in the near future. Thank you for understanding and for the support. All our love, The Hemmings.”

In June 2021, Hemmings revealed that he and Deaton had gotten engaged after dating for three years. As mentioned in his comment, the couple never publicised when they actually got married.
It seems that 5 Seconds Of Summer are preparing to release a new album soon, with the band in the studio in November for some “Nashville Sessions.”
The forthcoming 5 Seconds Of Summer album—currently unannounced—will follow 2022’s 5SOS5 and Hemmings’ 2024 solo EP, Boy. His debut solo album, When Facing The Things We Turn Away From, was released in August 2021.
