4ZZZ Reveals Four-Month Program To Celebrate Its 50th Anniversary
The fun begins on Friday, 8 August, and continues until Monday, 8 December.

4ZZZ is celebrating 50 years of serving the local community in Brisbane this year. As part of said celebrations, the radio broadcaster has announced a four-month-long program of live music and other events.
The fun begins on Friday, 8 August, and continues until Monday, 8 December. The series will honour five decades of independent music and media, as well as its devoted community of volunteers and supporters.
Throughout the program, punters will get to enjoy live gigs, one-day festivals and boat parties, programming specials and reunions that star 4ZZZ alumni, DIY art exhibitions, panels, talks, and book launches, and dinners, and bushwalks and honouring the community outside of the broadcasting signal.
Starting the 50th anniversary celebrations with the Radiothon, 4ZZZ will also present events such as That Sound Over The Fence Festival, Beerstock, the Carnage in the Carpark punk show, Zed Lovers, Brisbane Teenage Fanclub, the 4ZZZ 50th Birthday Boat Cruise, the mighty ZED50 celebration event, and more. Additional events will be announced ahead of the celebrations beginning this August.

“This is more than a birthday—it’s a tribute to everyone who’s ever tuned in, turned up, or taken part,” 4ZZZ Chairperson Ruth Gardner said. “Now, as we reach our half-century milestone, we’re gearing up for 4 months of festivities to celebrate this massive achievement!”
Earlier this month, it was announced that The Saints 73-78, Regurgitator, Tropical Fuck Storm, Full Flower Moon Band, and Briggs’ new project, Big Noter, would be among the artists paying tribute to 4ZZZ for its massive 50th anniversary concert, ZED50.
The massive event will take place on the Roma Street Parklands on Saturday, 25 October, from midday until late. Across two stages, clash-free live music will take over for 4ZZZ - ZED50: A Market Day Celebration of 50 Years of 4ZZZ Radio. You can find tickets to the event here.
