The Music Victoria Awards have announced the nominees for all Public Voting Categories in the 2022 event.
Voting has opened today and will close on Monday, 21 November, at 5 pm. People living in Victoria are especially encouraged to vote for the artists who got them through lockdowns and need all the extra help they can get. Make your vote here.
Over 200 acclaimed judges across musical mediums in radio, plus music industry experts from critical stakeholders, peak bodies, print and online media, music podcasts, leading cultural organisations and music festivals have specially chosen the nominees.
Baker Boy is nominated for the prestigious Best Album Award for his debut album, Gela. The other Best Album nominees are Harvey Sutherland with Boy, beatnik-jazz outfit JAZZPARTY's Nobody Gets Away, Kerryn Fields's latest record Water, Zimbabwean-born, Melbourne-based soul singer thndo (FKA Thando) with her album Life In Colour.
Over for Best Song Award are Baker Boy, Julia Jacklin, Courtney Barnett, Black Cab, and GUTHRIE.
Best Group is another stacked category, with Camp Cope, Dorsal Fins, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, Ramona Sky and Telenova all up for the nod.

Melbourne's favourite music spaces, Forum Melbourne, Melbourne Recital Centre, Palais Theatre, Sidney Myer Music Bowl and The Night Cat, have been rightly nominated for Best Large Venue (Metro).
A new category has been added to the Music Victoria Awards of 2022: Best DJ. The nominees are Toronto-born Australian resident Jennifer Loveless, pop-electronic act Memphis LK, Melbourne-based DJ MzRizk, Melbourne producer Reptant and Simon TK.
