After 14 Weeks At #1, Tones & I Has Broken Another Huge Chart Record

Tones & I (real name Toni Watson) has had another huge week at the top of the ARIA Single Chart - now breaking the record for the most weeks consecutively at #1. 

The Byron Bay via Melbourne artist has now hit a whopping 14 weeks at the top of the chart with her mega-hit Dance Monkey. 

This sees Watson break the ARIA Chart record of 13 weeks at #1, which was held by Coolio’s Gangsta's Paradise (1995/96), Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Justin Bieber collab Despacito (2017) and Lil Nas X's Old Town Road (2019).

Additionally, this sees Watson overtake The Beatles' Hey Jude, which held the record for 13 weeks at #1 in 1968 when the charts were monitored by the Kent Music Report. 

While Watson now holds the record for most consecutive weeks at the top of ARIA Singles Chart, she is currently tied with ABBA's 1976 record of 14 weeks at #1 with Fernando on the Kent chart.

If Dance Monkey holds onto another week at #1, Watson will tie with Ed Sheeran for the most weeks at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart with 15 weeks. 

Sheeran's Shape Of You held the top spot for 15 weeks in 2017, with 13 straight weeks at #1 followed by one week at #2 and a further two at #1.
