The research showed that “just the possibility of being able to see their favourite artists live is enough to tempt young music fans towards brands.”

The show will be hosted by triple j alum Bridget Hustwaite, offering a “cool, credible and up-to-date voice for Australian music and pop culture”.

Live Performance Australia's Evelyn Richardson stated that workers within the Australian music industry "should be embracing opportunities".

The fan-voted collection of songs by independent artists will benefit Support Act, as well as the artists themselves.

"This funding will help to address the challenges contributing to cancellations and closures among the live music scene," Minister for the Arts Tony Burke said.
