Australian indie folk meets alt-country duo Sunday Lemonade have signed a record deal with Ambition Music as they look towards the next chapter of their career.

The news arrives ahead of the release of the duo’s – comprising Tys and Loz – upcoming single, Pancakes, set to drop on Thursday, 2 April. Pancakes captures the carefree spirit of going on a road trip with your best friend and leaving the world behind.

Currently situated in Sapphire Coast, NSW, and originally hailing from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Sunday Lemonade have amassed a devoted, grassroots following through extensive touring across Australia and New Zealand.

Pancakes has always been a live show highlight for us,” the pair said. “Playing it on the main stage at Tamworth Country Music Festival this year was a huge moment. Capturing that energy in the studio was incredibly satisfying.”

In 2024, Sunday Lemonade were crowned People’s Choice winners at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and placed second this year. Other achievements include winning the Emerging Artist Award at the Nannup Music Festival in 2020 and touring alongside Pierce Brothers, Thirsty Merc, The Black Sorrows, Sons Of The East, and many others.

Ambition Music Managing Director, Robert Rigby, said of signing the pair, “With the backing of Ambition Music and a debut EP on the horizon, Sunday Lemonade are poised to take their infectious, road-trip ready sound to audiences across the country and internationally in 2026.”

Taking to social media, Sunday Lemonade expressed delight about signing the record deal and about teaming up with Rigby, highlighting his experience at Sony, Warner, and Universal and his role in developing artists such as Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, Green Day, The Screaming Jets, and many others in Australia.

“WE SIGNED A FREAKIN RECORD DEAL!!! ‘PANCAKES’ OUT 02.04.26,” the duo shared. “We have been holding this tight to our chests, and it feels amazing to let out.”

They added, “You know what, sometimes the right person comes into your life at the right time! Have you heard the term boulevard of dreams in Tamworth? Well, it’s not a word of a lie… Along came Robert Rigby with a strong interest in us and our career… He was SHOCKED we didn’t have any label representation!

“So, we had some meetings over the last two months and just got on so well, negotiated some boring legal stuff and decided the fit was right! With this we are so stoked to also announce we are releasing our single ‘Pancakes’ NEXT WEEK 02.04.26 with the amazing team at MGM DISTRIBUTION under the label AMBITION.

“Far out, this year has been huge and it’s only March! Thanks for all your support Lemòn fam!”

Ahead of the release of Pancakes, Sunday Lemonade will perform at Surf Life Festival in Gerringong, NSW, this weekend.
