Nightmares On Wax: Suno Launches New Vinyl Pressing Servce For AI-Generated Music

AI-generated music is now heading to your turntable, thanks to the folks at Suno.

If you’ve ever listened to soulless, AI-generated music and been so taken by the experience that you felt you just had to add it to your collection of physical media, there’s good news on the way, with Suno launching their own vinyl pressing service.

Announcing the new Suno Vinyl service (which is still listed as “coming soon”), the artificial intelligence music creation platform is giving listeners the chance to “turn the music you make on Suno into real records, pressed and shipped to your door”.

According to reports, users will have the opportunity to choose tracks from their library, pressing up to 46 minutes of audio onto a 12-inch record.

The record can then be customised and complemented with either their own artwork or designs (generated via Suno), including custom sleeve, cover, and label options.

The one (albeit small) piece of good news is the fact that the records themselves are pressed onto black vinyl discs made from PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol), which is described by Suno as an eco-friendly process.

The whole process is advertised for $45 plus shipping costs, with that amount presumably being in USD.

News of Suno’s foray into the world of vinyl comes following a rough few weeks for the company.

Last month, a purported hack of the platform revealed source code that showed “at least decades worth of music" had been scraped from various online platforms to train its AI models.

Suno later confirmed a data breach that had occurred in November 2025, reportedly leading to hackers gaining the personal information of 55.3 million users.

Earlier this month, the Munich Regional Court in Germany ruled against the platform, finding that the company illegally ingested copyrighted compositions to train its AI models without proper licences.

The court rejected Suno’s defence that its model merely “learned patterns” without storing protected tracks. GEMA established that by prompting Suno, the songs were in fact reproducible.

It remains to be seen whether the case will be upheld on appeal, and how findings such as this may impact the broader landscape and conversation surrounding topics pertaining to AI and the use of copyrighted material.
