In some hugely positive news, Support Act’s annual fundraiser, Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, has revealed that this year’s event raised a record-breaking $700,000 + for music workers in need.
Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, which took place on Thursday, 30 November, saw an outpouring of support from across the Australian music industry, marking its most significant year to date.
The impressive total is still climbing, thanks in part to generous donations from various sources.
Over 680 fundraisers and 160 teams took part in the annual event, with support from across the sector from industry bodies, record labels, fan groups and ticketing giants to creative agencies, social media platforms and venues, all represented on this year’s AAMI leaderboard at ausmusictshirtday.org.au.
The funds raised will be directed towards providing essential support for music workers, covering areas such as short-term financial relief, mental health and well-being support, the Mentally Healthy Workplaces Program, Support Act Wellbeing Helpline, and dedicated First Nations support.
This year’s campaign was backed by Aussie music heavyweights Amy Shark, Budjerah and Jimmy Barnes, along with a raft of famous faces of Australian music, radio and stage who all threw their support behind the day.
Clive Miller, CEO of Support Act, explains: “We’re thrilled to have smashed another goal this year and are so grateful for everyone who took part in the campaign and really got behind the cause. To be able to see people from all walks of life celebrate Aussie music and support everyone behind the scenes has been a real honour.
“A special thanks to our partners AAMI, Gildan Brands, Heaps Normal, ARIA, and triple j; our wonderful ambassadors and champions who really rallied behind the cause; to Mushroom Creative House and all of the artists who took part in the marketing campaign; our generous corporate donors, including latest additions ALWAYS LIVE, Endeavour Group, CUB and JB Hi-Fi; our Fundraising Advisory Committee; and to our Premium T-Shirt designers and partner, Love Police ATM.”
And for those looking for last-minute Christmas gifts, you can also still order from the Merch Partners page until Friday 15 December to receive tees in time for Christmas. You can also continue to donate to the Ausmusic T-Shirt Day website as it remains open for the next few weeks.
