17 Aussie acts have been added to the UK’s largest music festival and showcase, The Great Escape.
Joining the already-announced Australian artists Miss Kaninna, Nick Ward, South Summit, and Tia Gostelow, another 17 Australian acts make up The Great Escape’s stacked new 120-artist announcement.
Also heading to Brighton, UK, this May are (in alphabetical order): Acopia, Armlock, Beddy Rays, DICE, Donny Benét, Eggy, Folk Bitch Trio, Gauci, Hachiku, Kita Alexander, REDD., Sex Mask, Sly Withers, Stella Bridie, Tjaka, Total Tommy, and Wayside.
The Great Escape takes place in music venues in the British city of Brighton from Wednesday, 14, to Saturday, 17 May. You can find the latest artist announcement below and learn more about the festival here.
The Great Escape has a history of spotlighting Australian talent. In 2023, the festival starred numerous Aussie artists, including C.O.F.F.I.N., Mia Wray, Jem Cassar-Daley, The Rubens, Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers, RVG, Eliza Hull, Pacific Avenue, Tasman Keith, and more.
Last year’s edition of The Great Escape was affected by controversy. More than 125 artists boycotted the festival due to one of its sponsors, Barclays Bank, and the company’s alleged ties to companies that supplied weapons to Israel during its war against Hamas.

The boycott had supporters and detractors, with Massive Attack showing support by posting on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Whether it’s apartheid and genocide in Gaza or the funding of new fossil fuel extraction worldwide, Barclays has repeatedly proven it is without conscience. Barclays, therefore, has no place in any music festival or any cultural event. Solidarity with and total respect to all musicians who’ve taken this stand.”
However, Nick Cave revealed that he didn’t support the boycott, encouraging a conflicted musician who was considering dropping off The Great Escape festival to “play.”
In October, it was reported that Barclays wouldn’t be supporting the 2025 event.
