Aleksiah Wins Big At 2024 SA Music Awards
Swapmeet, Teenage Joans, and Electric Fields were amongst the other acts who picked up significant awards.

Adelaide-based indie rock singer-songwriter aleksiah has enjoyed a huge night at this year’s SA Music Awards, winning four awards throughout the night following the release of her cheeky new single, Batsh*t.
Taking home the wins for Best New Artist, Best Solo Artist, the Emily Burrows Award (presented by APRA AMCOS) and the award for Most Popular Pop Artist, aleksiah wasn’t the only one who dominated throughout the night.
Other South Australian favourites, such as Swapmeet and Teenage Joans, took home two awards each. Swapmeet won the coveted Best Song award (for Ceiling Fan) as well as Best Release (for their album Oxalis), while Teenage Joans snapped up Best Group and Most Popular Punk Artist.
In other big categories, Electric Fields were crowned Best Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Artist, and DEM MOB received the award for Best Regional Artist.
Meanwhile, in another milestone, the Sisters Of Invention - the world’s first all-female leaning pop group with disabilities - received the MusicSA Community Achievement Award for their work in the local community and disability awareness. Sound engineering students Matt Stasinowsky and Joshua Rocca won the Neville Clark Award.

One of the biggest moments of the night, though, went to Guy Sebastian, who was inducted into the South Australian Music Hall of Fame. Acknowledging his roots within the South Australian community, the Battle Scars singer accepted the honour and performed live for the audience. Other performers included West Thebarton, My Cherie, and Sons Of Zöku.
