The genre of Yacht Rock is huge right now, with a HBO feature dockumentary, yacht rock tunes going viral on TikTok, CD box sets, books and podcasts in recent times. If you're not quite sure why yacht rock is making waves, the Smooth Sailing Yacht Rock Party should be your first port of call.

Smooth Sailing are an extravagant 11-piece Sydney band started in 2019, who emphasise the yacht rock grooves and the party. Playing the smoothly funky but somehow quite daggy pop music of the late 1970s and early 1980s - think the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Toto, Christopher Cross, and more - Smooth Sailing consistently gets sellout crowds dancing to the smoothest music this side of early 1980s LA.So put on your dancing shoes, find a captain's hat, and get a Piña colada at the bar.
