Join award-winning author and Professor of African American Studies, Ruha Benjamin for a talk on the liberating power of our imagination, followed by a Q&A.

The same human imagination that has shaped harmful systems such as patriarchy, capitalism and colonialism, must now be re-imagined to create a world in which everyone can thrive. Professor Benjamin offers a pragmatic and poetic approach to world-building, inviting each of us to consider the role we play in maintaining or transforming the oppressive status quo.

Dystopia, Utopia, or…UStopia? From Artificial Intelligence to Abundant Imagination is co-presented with the Power Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, as part of the Visual Research Program.
