Duke of George presents

Carus Thompson

One of Freo’s favourite songwriters Carus Thompson returns to The George for a special solo acoustic show.

Carus brings his solo show fresh from a sold-out tour of Germany, where he launched two new albums: his 9thstudio album When Everything Was New and his 3rd live album of original songs Acoustic In Germany.

His song ‘I Remember You’ from When Everything Was New was just announced as a semi-finalist in the esteemed International Songwriting Competition, and the rest of the album continues to notch up big streaming numbers, as well as critical and popular acclaim.

Carus has now toured the world for over 30 years alongside The John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, Seth Lakeman & Pete Murray, selling over 30,000 albums along the way. He’s won his loyal fan base by delivering passionate, energetic, folk-rocking shows that entertain and engage. Expect the same at the George.

A Carus Thompson show will always be a journey through quiet ballads, to all out rockers, to dance-floor fillers, all delivered with his unpretentious, crowd-inclusive energy. His passionate and genuine pub-rock approach sets him apart from the majority of singer-songwriters. It’s always a great vibe.

Come down and see why he’s long been one of this countries favourite underground acoustic artists.
