PREMIERE: Wren – ‘Secrets’

Quirky and charming is the best way to describe the new clip from classically trained alt-pop artist Wren, with Secrets delivering an exciting taste of what’s the come.

For her latest cut – premiered today via The Music - the award-winning Aussie artist has utilised looping in a way that many might not have heard before, enlisting everyday percussive sounds (paper tearing, a match igniting) alongside violin, viola and cello.

The single premiere is accompanied by a video (directed by the song's producer, Michael McGlynn of Vienna People) that brings the whole thing to life and elevates the song’s melodies to the next level, and in-keeping with the DIY nature of the looping, the video was filmed on an iPhone X.

Secrets describes the things we all hide from the rest of the world, for fear of being judged by others,” Wren said.

Taken from the upcoming The Pioneer And The Thief EP (set for release on July 31), Secrets has already claimed two awards in the UK and US, including Best Music Video in the 2017 UK Songwriting Contest and second place in the 2017 Music Video Category of the International in Nashville.
