“I like to think of the 4 and a half minutes as though the viewer is stuck in a state of deep boredom/procrastination/hangover and glued to their couch cycling through public access television."
After pleasing fans with their new single Wasted, Sophisticated Dingo are today revealing their new visual accompaniment to the track, premiering via The Music.
The music video has been described by the band as “a brain dump of our technicolour dreams”, providing a fresh take on the duo's dynamic new release.
Speaking of the video, vocalist and guitarist Lewis Matte says, "I like to think of the 4 and a half minutes as though the viewer is stuck in a state of deep boredom/procrastination/hangover and glued to their couch cycling through public access television.
"They don't like any of the shows on offer across the channels but they can't look away/don't want to give up on the TV and have to go outside and face their actual lives - drawing on the meaning of the song in wasting time stuck in your head overthinking everything rather than getting on with whatever it is you know should be doing.
"It was great to work with videographer and long time collaborator Harry Anderson again, the process of throwing these one-shot gag ideas together was such a joy and pure hilarity seeing it morph into the channel surfing nightmare that is the final video.
"It was also great to be able to use the longer outro version of the song we recorded in the studio, a different ending in comparison to the single version released.”
