"Our producer and engineer snuck that in there without my knowledge or permission!"

Restless Leg have today released the official video for their brand new track, A Song About A Song, premiering exclusively with The Music

The tune is a jangling meta-song that pays homage to some of the band's favourite performers.

"A Song About A Song is such a fun song to play, probably because it lets all of the band’s Velvet Underground inspired rock fantasies play out," said singer Ben Chamie.

"Lyrically inspired by the back cover of Paul Kelly’s Post album and the song titled Incident On South Dowling off that album. I was just thinking about that place: the corner of Sth Dowling and Fitzroy Street, the Hopetoun at the other end of Fitzroy Street. And the time: when Paul Kelly was living in Sydney, playing at the Hoey and wondering about the mangled car wreckage in the photo on the back cover and the people involved as they’re depicted in the song."

Chamie also says some cheeky folks behind the scenes make a bit of an appearance on the song. "Keep an ear out for the toilet flush going into the guitar solo. Our producer and engineer snuck that in there without my knowledge or permission!"
