PREMIERE: Delicacy & Dexterity Meet Beautifully In Matthew Kenneally's 'Would You Do It Again?' Vid

The Melbourne musician hits all the right notes in his emotive and affecting debut solo effort.

Canary frontman and Melbourne singer-songwriter Matthew Kenneally is broadening his horizons, recently releasing his debut solo single, Would You Do It Again?, and now he's followed that up with a gorgeous video accompaniment, proudly premiering on theMusic.com.au today.

The delicately, dexterously executed video starts off as a pseudo-lyric video, closing in on the singer-songwriter as he handwrites the words being sung so sweetly atop his gentle guitar before the page turns to reveal a beautifully animated sequence of love and loss.

The song returns to the scribe as he pens the remainder of the track, mirroring the video's first half and creating a simple but exceptionally effective piece of visual and aural enchantment.

"The song is about making the same and arguably bad decision or decisions over and over again, knowing it will cause you pain but choosing to do it anyway," Kenneally said in a statement.

"It is about the irrationality of love. It is about the sweetness that can be found in the pain of longing, and jealousy. It is about the bittersweet knowledge that you will probably still make the same decisions in the future."

It's a beautifully written and performed song, and if it's your kind of warming cup of tea, you can keep up to speed with what Kenneally is up to in the near future over at his Facebook page.
