"The car is part of the song."
Sydney indie folk singer-songwriter Jackson Carroll explores emotional musical terrain with his latest single, Holy Hell.
Described as “reflective, contemplative and self-aware”, it’s the first taste of a forthcoming EP and sees the local artist quickly finding a unique voice.
Its accompanying music video, premiered today via The Music, was filmed by Joel Bryant in Kurnell, Sydney.
“For Holy Hell, we knew we wanted to use a car because there’s a lot you can do with a car, the car is part of the song,” Carroll told The Music.
“And I was sporting a pretty shit-box car at the time, a car I was, and still am, prouder of than I should have been.
“Funnily enough, it’s not even my car in the video. The brakes on mine stopped working a little while before we had to film.”
