Cream of the crop in Sydney indie-folk, Em George is today unveiling the video to her recently released single, The In Between.
The clip was produced and edited by George herself during the lockdown of last year.
“Releasing most of my new music during both lockdowns has meant I’ve had to get creative and hustle," George said.
"I produced and edited this video myself, filming small moments during the second lockdown. I was trying to get that never-ending feeling of time that we all felt like we were all living in between things.
"I filmed it around my house with bits and pieces from life before COVID; my grandmother’s coat, old vintage trinkets collected on overseas travel (who remembers travel?!), an old chess board - all became part of it.
"And then also the cool things we sometimes miss during regular busy life that lockdown showed us we were missing - flowers, sun and shadows, lazing about, being present in the moment. Snippets of vintage stock footage helped pull it together.”
The track itself was recorded at Oceanic Studios (owned by Jim Moginie of Midnight Oil) in Brookvale, days before the city's second 2021 lockdown.
