"We wanted to distil that feeling of freedom and possibilities of post lockdown Sydney this summer."

Sydney electro pop performer Catcall has shared the brand new video for her tune Feel The Fear - premiering exclusively right here at The Music.

The singer, real name Catherine Kelleher, has been working on the tune for about three years - and said the process echoed much of the sentiment of the song itself.

"Feel The Fear is about the electricity, uncertainty and intensity of new relationships," she explained. "Being vulnerable, taking a risk and putting yourself out there…but sometimes it doesn’t work out.

Kelleher added,  "we’re all carrying around these traumas from past relationships that make us really afraid to open ourselves and this song explores that confusion, especially when you’re in those intoxicating first moments. The production is slick but the vocals are imperfect, and I’m leaning into and embracing my imperfections when it comes to the music I make."

The performer also stated that the new vid is a love letter to her hometown, and the lamenting of times gone by.

"The karaoke-style music video (directed by Cara Harvey) was created during lockdown when all we had access to film was Sydney's beautiful ocean and beaches - just before the 5km limit came in," she explained. "We wanted to distil that feeling of freedom and possibilities of post lockdown Sydney this summer. It's reminiscent of those old tourism videos and an ode to Sydney itself."
