PREMIERE: Watch The Video For Brendan Welch's Emotive, Endearing 'Five Days Gone'

The Melbourne singer-songwriter unveils a new cut from his recent self-titled full-length.

Melbourne singer-songwriter Brendan Welch has released a new single from his excellent 2016 self-titled full-length, Five Days Gone, and theMusic.com.au is proud to be premiering the tune's accompanying video today.

The clip was filmed and directed by Jamieson Moore and features guest vocalist Hannah Welch, the song telling the story "of a girl on the run from someone or something unseen", the muso says.

The song dwells in earnest acoustic territory, mixing in piano and simple percussion while Welch's warbly but inviting vocals recall the kind of delivery wielded by, for example, Conor Oberst, giving the piece an endearing, unpolished yet wholly enjoyable vibe.

If you're keen on it, the album from which Five Days Gone is taken is available digitally and in a limited-edition vinyl pressing via Bandcamp.
