"Fun, over-the-top and empowering."
The latest song from Sydney singer-songwriter ANGE celebrates “self-love and making your own decisions”.
Its accompanying music video, premiering today via The Music, started off with the singer envisioning “something fun, over-the-top and empowering” before she reached out to filmmaker Chloe De Brito.
“We really click and it has been very fun sharing ideas and seeing this huge concept come to life,” ANGE told The Music.
“Her concept was aligned with the song, very crazy considering everything that was involved, but we wanted to risk it and go for it. I love how the video is empowering and celebrates sisterhood and femininity.”
On the single itself, ANGE noted: “The song talks about the early stages of a relationship, when you meet someone but eventually they aren’t interested anymore and leave you hanging, as we say ’ghosting’.
“I have obsessed over a text message so many times in the past and overthought every word when dating or whatever; it devalues you. I learnt that it’s important to set boundaries and learn to love yourself first."
