Read below for the full interview as well as how to grab last minute to their show on the 2nd of April.
It’s been a hard pair of years for the music industry, and especially dance music globally. What is the feeling and energy surrounding touring again across the world and landing in Australia? Is it surrealness, anxiety, or just pent up energy?
It is a great feeling more of a Privilege! Touring again after 2 years of darkness and nightmares in our heads and seeing a lot of people getting sick was not easy. But here we are full of energy and ready to go!
There is a grand array of amazing techno coming from around the world and Europe. As a duo, what do you think sets you apart?
The good thing with our project is that the people connecting us with our music. At the moment you see a lot of Artists doing some bully stuff on instagram or Facebook to look special or to get more followers. Our main goal is to create outstanding tracks and play great sets. Our faces our on socials as well but its secondary. Music first.
Dance music is powerful in its purpose, and has deeply emotional roots, despite people partying heavily to it. What draws you both into the genre? What keeps you in love with it after touring for so many years?
Our hometown Frankfurt was the birthplace of the term techno so we came into that genre quite early. During our teenager times deep house and indie dance was more our thing so we stated here and we took a journey to where we are now. Organically. We are sill growing and this is what keeps the vibe alive.
You’ve most recently released a new EP, ‘Shadows’, which features heavy deep grooves and sees you really take your sound to the next level. What elements do you think this EP shows that others previously haven't? How do you think it elevates your craft?
The melody in the break and the drop showing our way of techno and people seems to accept it :) As our Credo says: Techno With Drama. We need music with feelings. Techno can have that you just need to let it go into it.
You’re touring schedule is heavy, having played across the globe with so many incredible career highlights. How do you balance your personal life alongside such a high octane live schedule? Is it impossible to find balance?
In the state of career that we are (means we getting old haha) its much easier. Besides to all the passion you need to work professional and take care of your company. We also run a label and events too. We have 4 employees and one tour manager. So during the week they work hard to let us hold the balance. And weekend we rave hard to pay the bills haha. The simple way to keep the balance is do what you love.
Do you think that the COVID break changed your perception of touring and how special a live show is? Did it make you appreciate the beauty of music?
No music was always there. But the touring was really missing. Some days or weekends we felt kind of useless….
In previous interviews you’ve said you’re super grateful for all the success so far given how hard the music industry can be. How important is staying humble in being successful?
It's one of the main rules you need to understand. We always try to keep that in our mind. Still working !
Your music is super versatile, ranging from techno to deeper cuts. How important is it to provide a wide range of music to fans, and not be boxed into one genre?
I think it's the key to make the sound special. How boring would it be to play 2 hours the same music?
What can fans expect from your set on Saturday?
A proper German techno rave
