Sufjan Stevens First Act Added To Vivid Sydney

Sufjan Stevens is coming back down under to hang out. Yep, that's right. And we're keen to see him as part of Sydney's Vivid LIVE 2012.

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, after the success of 2011’s Vivid LIVE (that festival where The Cure played at the Sydney Opera House, and there were all those amazing light displays down by the harbour) the powers that be are bringing it back for Autumn 2012.

This year it runs from May 25 to June 11, a “festival of light, music and ideas.” I’m hoping for something visually spectacular. Director Fergus Lineham has previously taken control of the lovely Sydney Festival, so we know we’re in good hands; his role is to “facilitate ambitious and at times outrageous ideas that enhance the contemporary music scene…”

Most importantly we’re psyched because the first act announced is SUFJAN STEVENS.  Yep, we love Stevens’ pop ballads almost as much as we love the wings he wears on stage. Fingers crossed for a fantastic show, just like his last.

A couple other acts have been revealed, including some new work from classical composer, Nico Muhly and from The National’s Bryce Dessner. We’re pumped. You should get pumped too.

Full line-up will be announced March 15. Stay tuned. For more details see HERE.
