Tess Guthrie is back making music after a five-year break.
Having found success with her band Square One in high school, Guthrie decided to leave it for a while to study at Monash University and pursue a career working in women's rights and is now back with her track WUTO, an abbreviation of Were You The One.
"It feels cool that WUTO has gone from an abbreviation I used for a shitty sound recording saved on my phone of a song I wrote in a paddock to something me and my mates; Hannah, Sam, Don and Gormie have poured hours of love into," shares Guthrie.
"I wanted to release this song first because it feels like a nice accumulation of where I’ve come to with music over the last year. It really captures a weird & specific feeling for me. During the process I’ve definitely had both a solid cry and a solid boog and sometimes a cry-boog - so I hope others can also enjoy the bizarre and cathartic experience of the cry-boog too."
