The latest track from NSW talent AKA Lui is eclectic and gets straight to the point.

Premiering today via The Music, Pushing Me Aside is the first of a run of singles that tracks “the various aspects and narratives of a break-up”.

“Pushing Me Aside is lyrically very direct. Writing the song was my way of coming to terms with what was going on around me. It’s like therapy, music is powerful like that,” AKA Lui told The Music.

“I like to think people can relate to this song in their own way based on whatever may be happening in their life. There really isn’t any ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ moment on this record, I'm simply recounting a moment in time.”

Last year, AKA Lui burst onto the scene with Hey! I Don’t Want That Anyway, a track that garnered a wealth of praise and has recently clocked 1 million streams.
