Single title? Waves
What's the song about? Waves is about trying to get that feeling of excitement and wonder back that I had as a kid.
How long did it take to write/record? I came up with the verse and the pre-chorus the night before we went into the studio to finish and write it. The actual recording and fleshing out of the song only took one day.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Yes, it is the first single from a forthcoming EP I’ll be releasing.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? Around the time of writing the song I was thinking a lot about that feeling of nervousness and excitement about life which sometimes seems like it becomes less and less each year.
We'll like this song if we like... If you like Rhodes or Tom Odell... Perhaps?
Do you play it differently live? At the moment it's just me playing it on acoustic guitar. The production makes the song quite epic, but I think it still stands on its own acoustically.
When and where is your launch/next gig? The next gig I'm playing is at the Newtown Social Club this Saturday 22 October and Sunday 23 October supporting Lisa Mitchell!
