Ascendant Canberra-bred, Melbourne-based outfit Wallflower may have only formed in mid-2013, but they've been quick to assert themselves among the ranks of the capital's finest acts in the time since.
Within their first 12 months as a band, the group racked up support slots for high-profile mainstays such as Eskimo Joe, Owl Eyes and SAFIA, and now the fledgling indie-poppers are turning their attention towards the release of their keenly awaited self-titled debut EP, proudly premiering on theMusic.com.au today.
The five-track extended player contains a trio of tracks already turning heads among discerning listeners — singles Ambien and Soliloquy, which were both featured on triple j's Unearthed platform, as well as Fabricated, which itself garnered some healthy critical response — alongside unreleased track Feathers and a cover/medley of Bon Iver's Woods and Kanye West's Runaway, which is pretty much worth the price of admission on its own.
The EP is officially released tomorrow, 29 January; you can grab it online via iTunes, then head to the band's Facebook page to give them the ol' thumbs-up and keep tabs on their movements in the near future, because they're not likely to stay stationary for long.
