With ARIA Award-winning outfit The Audreys currently on hiatus, Taasha Coates has kept herself busy in the studio and is gearing up for the release of her first solo album and to tide us over until then, the singer is today dropping the film clip for her first single from the LP, This House Is Gonna Burn, premiering right here at theMusic.com.au.
The new track is a perfect example of what fans can expect from Coates' forthcoming record, Taasha Coates & Her Melancholy Sweethearts — a deeply personal offering which showcases the songwriters' incredible vocals.
"I wrote these tracks through March and April either on the piano or on the ukulele if my kids were in bed, then we started putting them down in May," Coates said of the new album.
"The songs are more personal and direct than anything I did with The Audreys, but I like that about them. There are some cheeky songs, some sexy songs and some sad songs. Shane Nicholson did an amazing job working with me to get them all down and sounding great."
