"All together, Tasmania is an intimidating work of art – and one of the finest additions to Pond’s discography." – Taylor Marshall
Pond’s Tasmania is probably their boldest album to date, the Perth five-piece expanding their electronic palette while examining national identity and change. The album conjures the feeling of an Australian summer – the scent of frangipanis, rolling ocean waves – but remains politically loaded (The Boys Are Killing Me), or, at times, fragile and emotionally reflective (Burnt Out Star).
At the same time, the record boasts synth gems that lure you to the dancefloor, from single Daisy to Hand Mouth Dancer. Pond have crafted an album to groove to – even as it makes you think.
