Jay Watson AKA GUM is a man with his fingers in some mighty musical pies. Now I'm not talking your Coles home brand Apple Pie that has the colouring of yellow pee, I'm talking your home-made, pastry and all, apple pie. And he's got his fingers in two bloody apple pies. Pond and the ultimate buzz band at the moment Tame Impala. When Watson's not busy strolling around the world he's hunkering down to make his own music under the moniker of GUM. His most recent single Anesthesized Lesson is a funky, fuzzed out jam that's like an 80s roller disco slathered in reverb. So if you're looking for a Pond / Tame Impala 2.0 you're not in the right place but what Watson does do is take the more extreme elements of Tame Impala i.e. it's psych jams and wash them in the rock jams of Pond. Anesthesized Lesson is also the first single from Watson's upcoming album titled Glamourous Damage.
