Whether you’re a mosher, or simply want to sip cocktails in luxury, fans can expect to be treated with far more than a concert on the waves.
Pirate Rockers LAGERSTEIN are taking to the open waters as they announce their most ambitious parties to date. The “Rock This Cruise!” tour will see the band host cruise boat parties across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
We sat down with Maxxx Parté, bassist of Lagerstein, to get his insights about this adventurous undertaking.
Hey Maxxx Parté! Thanks for sitting down with me today to chat all about Lagerstein’s exciting new adventures.
Cheers! It’s great to be here & talk with you. There’s always plenty of stories to tell when it comes to Lagerstein!
So you’ve just announced these “Rock This Cruise” boat parties that Lagerstein will be headlining. Can you tell me more about those - are they exactly as the name suggests, actual boat parties?
You couldn’t be more right, these are going to be some awesome boat parties! We really thought we’d try and do something different for the fans with this tour, something that they’ll never forget.

How did the idea for this come about, and how did you make something this ambitious come to fruition?
It kind of came organically, I mean we’re pirates and we’re releasing a new song called ‘Rock This Ship’ so we thought why not throw one hell of a boat party so that we can literally rock a ship with the crew? It’s definitely been quite the experience pulling together these events. It’s for sure a different kind of party than we’ve ever tried to throw before. But I think we have a killer team that we couldn’t have done it without.
It seems like “Rock This Cruise” will be a really unique experience for fans. What sort of extra special shenanigans can fans expect from attending the boat parties?
We’ve definitely got a bunch in store for everyone. We were really looking forward to creating an experience like no other & really stand out from your usual club show. So we tried to jam pack these cruises with as much pirate shenanigans as possible. We’ve partnered up with the legends at Black Flag Brewery & Sunshine & Sons distillery to create our very own ‘Lagerbar’ which will be launched on the boats. Everyone there can try out our lager, rum, vodka & gin as a tasty little treat. There will be plenty of games and prizes as well. We’ll have our MC’s host a Squid Games style ‘Pirate Games’ where the top 3 on each boat will get to take home some bottles from our new bar. We’ll give out a bit more information about this closer to the date, because no one likes spoilers! There’ll also be some killer supports with some fresh merch & you’ll be able to take a stellar photo with our very own party parrot to take home. To top it all off, did we mention it’s on a boat?
Now, these shows are tying in with Lagerstein’s release of your new single “Rock This Ship”, I believe. Can you give an overview of the single?
There is a lot to say about the single, we wanted to make a song that really motivated people to get out and make the most of every day. There’s always so much going on in the world and life, so we wanted to create a song that talked to people but still hit hard. I think ‘Rock This Ship’ really embodies that and has some nicely varying sections with catchy melodies.
Was there anything different about the production process for this single, compared with previous releases?
There were a couple of things we did a bit differently with this one. The orchestra & backing choir is definitely unlike anything we’ve recorded before. There’s quite a bit going on in there and it was certainly an undertaking piecing it all together. But with the help of Lush Studios & Atrium Audio in the states I really think we’ve made a banger that still gives the message we wanted everyone to hear.
From what I can see, the single has already been sent privately to lucky fans who have already bought a ticket to a “Rock This Cruise” show. When can we expect to see the track available worldwide?
We have been sending the single out for free to anyone that has bought a ticket or signed up to our mailing list. It won’t be released on the major distribution platforms until likely the end of the month, so stay tuned for an update on that.
And where can fans buy a ticket to their nearest boat party?
Anyone that wants to buy a ticket, we guarantee will have quite the party. They can jump on to www.lagerstein.com to come have a great time with us. Looking forward to seeing all the crew there!
