Australian electronic music outfit Northeast Party House are calling for last drinks, announcing their The Final Party farewell tour.

The band didn’t share a reason for their impending breakup, but 15 years of releasing music and performing live is impressive, so they’ll be going out with a bang this October and November.

Set to be joined by special guest BENSON, the tour begins on Friday, 17 October, at Freo.Social and continues at Adelaide’s The Gov on Saturday, 18 October, Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Saturday, 25 October, Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Friday, 14 November, and ends at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Friday, 28 November.

Tickets will be available on Thursday, 7 August, at 10 am local time via the Northeast Party House website.

Northeast Party House first made a name for themselves by playing at warehouse parties and local venues across the country.

After winning triple j’s Unearthed competition with the track Dusk in 2010, they went on to tour alongside Kimbra and Ball Park Music and ended up playing at Falls Festival. The group’s fourth studio album, Enhancer, was released in May 2024.

Reflecting on their early achievements, the band commented in a statement, “When we first started Northeast, it was our dream to create a space where people could enjoy a gig like it was a friend’s house party. We had no idea that the house party would last for 15 years.

“Our triple j Unearthed win in 2010 marked the beginning of an adventure beyond our greatest ambitions. From there, we played countless festivals, headlined The Forum, toured the US and Europe, and performed at Splendour in The Grass to a full tent in 2021.”

Saying farewell ahead of their final shows, the group continued:

Our achievements were built on the back of sleeping on the floors of friends' and fans’ houses because we couldn’t afford a hostel, breaking down on the side of the road and missing our first interstate show, camping illegally on the side of the freeway, and a nutritious tour diet of service station dinners. Looking back at all of it, good or bad, we have been so lucky, and we are all so grateful for the journey.

We would like to thank all of our fans, families and friends for their unwavering support over the years. From the very beginning, you were the energy that propelled us from our first show supporting Jinja Safari at Rats (Brown Alley), to our first festival at Pyramid Rock and beyond. You have given us more stories than we can count, joys and life experiences that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.

And lastly, we’d like to say thank you to all of the teams, agencies, labels, distributors, techs, venues, merch sellers, and a special thank you to our manager and former label partner, Andy Bryan, and the incredible friends we have worked with at Six Boroughs, and Rob G our agent, who we have worked with pretty much since the beginning.

Let’s go out with a bang, come party one more time.
