Name: Anya Trybala
When did you start making music and why? Trumpet was my first learnt instrument but I started writing after the suicide of my boyfriend at 16. It's a form of therapy and now that I produce, I feel in control of my sound.
Sum up your musical sound in four words? Haunting, eclectic, accessible-experimental.
If you could support any band in the world — past or present — who would it be? The Knife. Karin Dreijer and her bro Olof are awesome and a massive influence.
If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? Fever Ray, self-titled. There are so many hidden layers on that album that I always discover something new.
Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Playing a character called Cherry Fox on Neighbours. I even had a scene with Harold!
Why should people come and see your band? My show is pretty dynamic. It will go from heavy delicious synths to delayed moody guitars to possible audience sing-alongs.
When and where for your next gig? 27 Mar, 7pm at the Brunswick Street Gallery for An Electronic Feast with Winterpark, Zol Balint and Honor Eastly.
