Have You Heard: Cobra 45's

30 September 2016 | 3:39 pm | Artist Submission

When did you start making music and why? We've been playing pubs, clubs and bars, metro and regional for about two years - coming together through a shared love of the music of bands like Red Devils, Housewreckers, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Kings Of Rhythm and Bluesbeakers.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Jumpin', hipshakin', houserockin' blues.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? The Cobra Records Story - various including Otis Rush, Magic Sam, Betty Everett and many more. The great westside Chicago R&B sound blending blues, rock'n'roll, rockabilly, mambo and late 1950s Top 40 to create blues rock.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Every gig has its moment - but either Cherry Bar supporting the brilliant Kerri Simpson in April or having our version of Chain's Judgement voted one of the year's best releases by radio 3MDR's Harmonica Riff Raff [thanks Old Shep].

Why should people come and see your band? Great rhythm and blues - dance your socks off - check out the red-hottest harp/guitar-driven blues rock in town.

When and where for your next gig? 22 Oct, The Brunswick Hotel.
